Improvising lyrics on the spot, junior psychology major James Trejo III performed freestyle rap at this year’s Phi Sigma Sigma talent show Dec. 2 on the third floor of the Campus Center. At the show, Phi Sigma Sigma accepted donations for their Neddie Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship goes to Phi Sigma Simga women in financial need. Trejo has always practiced his freestyle rap but began to take it more seriously his freshman year of college. He will be competing for the University of La Verne in the 2016 College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational in April at the University of Texas at Austin. / photo by Noel Cabrera
